About Us

 

Owner and chef, Chris Smith, is passionate about the Bridport area and the food he prepares at Pickled Ginger.

 

He began his career at the age of 15 in a busy local holiday park kitchen, which formulated a lasting impression on him. He keenly pursued his career obtaining catering qualifications and developed a passion for using local,  seasonal produce in a non fussy way.

Chris is a well known in the local area having worked in various  establishments in Bridport before embarking on his dream of opening Pickled Ginger in the town he adores. His wife, Heather is also very much part of the team and you'll find her at the front of house in the restaurant.

What a Find

I love nothing more than an independently run restaurant full of warmth, good food and personal touches. The pickled ginger does not disappoint. Run by a lovely couple in the middle of Bridport, the menu has plenty to chose from (it was difficult to decide!) The food is excellent and the service efficient and friendly.   Make sure you pay a visit to Heather and Chris of you're in the area. You won't be disappointed.
